Mr Alec Schulz

Alec graduated with an undergraduate degree cum laude in Philosophy from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2007.  In 2022, under the supervision of Stacie Friend, he received a master's degree in Philosophy with distinction from Birbeck College, University of London.

He is now pursuing a PhD in Philosophy at The Open University under the supervision of Derek Matravers and Dan Cavedon-Taylor.   The title of his project is The Aesthetics, Content, and Experience of Magic, which is the first-ever PhD-length study on the aesthetics of magic performance. 

Alec performs magic professionally as The Vegan Magician.  "What is vegan magic?", you may ask. Well, according to Alec, it looks like the real thing, but it's made from tofu, of course.
