Biography

I originally studied philosophy at the University of York, subsequently specialising in aesthetics for my MA before completing a PhD in 2007. I continue to pursue research interests in aesthetic formalism, with a particular emphasis on Kant's aesthetics, and have also published on the philosophy of creativity; the main focus of my current research concerns aesthetic judgement in everyday contexts.

With the OU, I have taught on A211 (Philosophy and the Human Situation), A222 (Exploring Philosophy), and currently teach on DA223 (Investigating Philosophy), A333 (Key Questions in Philosophy), and A853 (the philosophy MA).
