Biography
I am a psychotherapist and researcher interested in how people make sense of pain, belonging, and change. My current doctoral research explores how trauma and relational experience shape pathways into, through, and out of violent extremism, and what supports reintegration and repair.
My professional journey began in education, teaching individuals with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. I later trained as a psychotherapist and went on to work in humanitarian and community settings with people affected by conflict and displacement.
Across these experiences, my focus has remained the same: understanding what makes transformation possible — the moments when someone is seen, believed in, and given a fair chance to begin again.
