Emma joined the School of Engineering and Innovation (E&I) as a Staff Tutor in 2019.  She was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2025.
 
Prior to joining the OU full-time in 2019, Emma worked as an Associate Lecturer since 2006, alongside a career in Project and Programme Management within various public and private sector organisations including Deloitte and The Home Office.
