Biography
I teach on A334, English Literature from Shakespeare to Austen, and A335, Literature in Transition: from 1800 to the present. I achieved the status of AdvanceHE Fellow (FHEA) in 2024.
In addition to my OU teaching, I run a course on 'Taking Comedy Seriously' in secondary schools with The Brilliant Club.
My research blog on contemporary comedy, ‘Humour in the Arts’, is here: https://humourinthearts.com, and I write journalism about comedy for The Skinny, a monthly Scottish arts newspaper. Recent articles include a feature on comedians tackling money and one on parasocial relationships.
