Biography
Geoffrey is a PhD researcher in Engineering Innovation at The Open University, focusing on the development of advanced nanobiosensors for continuous healthcare monitoring. His work bridges chemistry, material science, biomedical engineering, and digital healthcare to enhance real-time disease detection and health management through innovative sensor technologies.
He holds an MSc in Manufacturing Technology and Management from Cranfield University, where he gained a strong foundation in smart manufacturing systems and innovation-driven production strategies. He also earned a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial and Applied Chemistry from The Technical University of Kenya (TUK), equipping him with a solid grounding in analytical chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering principles.
Professionally, he served as the Operations and Quality Director at Nekkar Products in Kenya, where he oversaw manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and regulatory compliance, particularly in the FMCG and chemical sectors. He also has experience in communication, having worked as a writer and editor at DAILY FOCUS KENYA, contributing to science and technology journalism.
He is passionate about translating research into impactful healthcare solutions, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and the real-world application of these solutions.
