Biography
I combine supporting students and tutors as a student experience manager with teaching leadership, creativity and innovation. My research is in the area of practitioner development and creating safe spaces to learn, including for neurodiverse learners. I’ve been an author and lead educator on our project management microcredential. I also supervise MBA and HRM Masters students as they work on their final dissertations and am a student experience manager, supporting students and tutors to achieve their goals.
My practice background is in leading transformation programmes and interim management across a variety of sectors. I am also a volunteer leader for an international not-for-profit, which has included serving on the international board. My professional doctorate in organisational change is in the area of practitioner development.
I was a student in the OU a long time ago and always wanted to teach here. I got my chance in 2019, starting very part time with one module, but over time it became my main role. I stayed because I appreciate our social purpose of being here for everybody and because I like the people. I love teaching and research – I get a great buzz out of delivering tutorials, discovering new things in inquiry and get enormous satisfaction in seeing people grow.
