Dr Jason Baverstock
Senior Manager, Research Enterprise & Commercialisation
Biography
I joined the OUs Research and Enterprise office as an Enterprise and Research Commercialisation manager in 2016. Prior to this I worked at Rothamsted Research for 14 years as a research scientist followed by 2 years in their tech transfer office.
My expertise lies in working with academics to identify intellectual property arising from their research and assessing its commercial potential. This involves internal and external due diligence checks and market analyses to determine the viability of the opportunity.
My role also involves the management and allocation of innovation funds such as the Higher Education Innovation Fund and other non-recurrent funds. I oversee schemes such as Knowledge Transfer Vouchers which aim to develop new partnerships, and Innovation Funds which raise the technology readiness level of intellectual property.
More recently I have been involved in developing processes to support the formation of spinouts and am currently project managing the formation of the OUs first spinout.
