Biography

Education Experience

My decision to embark on a teaching career came after working many years in management roles for corporatations across a variety of sectors, including automotive, pharma and IT. In 2015, I began working in Further Education, delivering lower level business and management apprenticeships.  I then moved into a Course Director / Lecturer role at Anglia Ruskin university in 2019 delivering the Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship.

Since 2021, I have worked at the Open University as a Lecturer and Student Experience Manager in the Business School. Most of my work focuses on Business and Management related Degree Apprenticeships and I have a real passion for these qualifications. I see impressive achievements and it is satisfying to play a key role in the apprentice's success.

In addition to my university roles, I work as a curriculum developer and consultant, supporting apprenticeship and corporate education providers in creating engaging learning materials, frameworks, and professional development programmes.

Corporate Experience

My career originally began in marketing, public relations, and management. This experience evolved naturally into teaching and has proven invaluable for helping students and apprentices contextualise academic learning within authentic workplace settings.

Qualifications

I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Business Management, a PGCE, and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Interests

Outside of work, I have a keen interest in Tudor-period historical reenactment and regularly take part in longbow archery events. I also write plays and was delighted to see one of my scripts produced at a local theatre.
