Miss Julia Morris
Lecturer and Student Experience Manager
Biography
Education Experience
I am a Lecturer and Student Experience Manager in the Open University Business School, where I have worked since 2021. Alongside this, I am a Practice Tutor across both WELS and FBL, delivering a range of modules and qualifications that help learners connect theory with real world professional practice. My work focuses on Degree Apprenticeships, ensuring that apprentices, employers, and tutors experience high-quality learning that links directly to business performance and personal development.
Before joining the Open University, I spent four years as Course Director and Lecturer for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship at Anglia Ruskin University, overseeing programme design, delivery, and quality assurance.
In addition to my university roles, I work as a curriculum developer and consultant, supporting apprenticeship and corporate education providers in creating engaging learning materials, frameworks, and professional development programmes.
Corporate Experience
My career originally began in marketing, public relations, and management. This experience evolved naturally into teaching and has proven invaluable for helping students and apprentices contextualise academic learning within authentic workplace settings.
Qualifications
I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Business Management, a PGCE, and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Interests
Outside of work, I have a keen interest in Tudor-period historical reenactment and regularly take part in longbow archery events. I also write plays and was delighted to see one of my scripts produced at a local theatre.
