Dr Kerry Somerset

My undergraduate studies were in Geography and Development Studies and I have an MA in European Politics and a PhD in International Trade. I specialise in international trade negotiations and I have an interest in tourism for development. I am an ex-European Commission official responsible for technical barriers to trade (and tariffs) working with over 100 countries and I have lived and worked in Brussels, Tallinn, Istanbul and Ankara as an independent consultant. I am a member of the University's safeguarding team, work in safeguarding with the England and Wales Cricket Board and a Graduate Presenter at graduation ceremonies.
