Dr Kim Collett
Associate Lecturer
Biography
Kim is an Associate Lecturer, AL Representative for Praxis and EDI champion. Her area of expertise is inclusion with a particular focus on special educational needs and disabilities although with appreciation that identity is not limited to one characteristic. Kim's passion for inclusion comes from her own experiences as a neurodivergent and disabled person.
Her PhD explores experiences of inclusion in classrooms and Kim specialises in research that listens to the voices of those often marginalised by society and research. This includes creative methods and the use of advocates.
Prior to becoming an educator, Kim led disability services and worked in the charity sector focusing on projects which supported neurodivergent and disabled people and their families, as well as raising awareness, and training organisations on inclusivity.
