Biography

Katie Robinson-Sherlock is a creative-critical PhD student whose research explores disability narratives through the lens of cosmic horror, with a particular focus on H.P. Lovecraft’s influence. Her work interrogates representations of embodiment, transformation, and otherness, reimagining horror tropes through a disability-led framework.

Katie is also a passionate writer and advocate. She is the author of A Man in Winter (Brigid’s Gate Press, 2022), a novella that was a finalist in the Eric Hoffer Awards. Her short fiction has appeared in multiple anthologies and magazines, including The Horrorzine’s Book of Ghost Stories (winner of Best Anthology, Critters Readers’ Poll), Water: Selkies, Sirens and Sea Monsters (winner of the Douglas Barbour Award), and Behind the Shadows II. Her debut novel is currently out on submission with publishers.

In addition to her academic and creative work, Katie serves as a trustee of Equal Lives, a user-led disability charity, and acts as a Disability Champion within the NHS Trust, where she works as a Business Intelligence Manager. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to disability advocacy and inclusive storytelling.
