Biography
Current responsibilities
I am currently on secondment 2 days a week to the Open programme where I am production chair for the reision of YXM130 Marking you learning count, and Qualification Director for the MA/MSc Open masters programme.
In my substantive post within the School of Engineering and Innovation I currently manage Associate Lecturers on undergraduate module U116 Environment, and postgraduate module T891 Making environmental decisions.
From January 2025 I am Scholarship lead for the school
Research interests
I am currently working towards a Doctorate in Education, looking at the experiences of students who take a deferral of their studies.
My other research has focused on three key themes: academic development, supporting students and staff with disabilities and communications with students.
Teaching interests
I am currently Production chair for a new version of YXM130 Making your Learning Count.
I have been module presentation chair of T198: Engineering at Work, YXM130 Making your Learning Count, T227: Change, strategy and projects at Work and T171: You, your computer and the internet. Previously I have been on the production teams for T219: Environmental Management, TU100: My Digital Life, T180: Living with the Net, T209 Information and communication Technologies and Y064: Exploring Sport Online.
External collaborations
I am a Senior Fellow of SEDA and act as an assessor for fellowship applications.
I have held a number of External Examiner appointments, currently EE for foundation programmes at Keele University and Adren University.
