Biography

I joined the OU in 2025 as a research student in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.  I hold a BA in Society, Economy and Social Policy (1997) from the University of Exeter; and an MA in Education and International Development (2013) from UCL Institute of Education.

My research project explores access to and the benefits of internships in international development.

I have a background working for large international and national volunteer-involving organisations.  In the UK and overseas in Mozambique, Guyana and Germany.  My interest in internships in the international development context comes from having worked alongside interns at the United Nations and having set up the internship programmes at the British Red Cross and Marie Curie.
