My main interests focus upon the Italian migrant presence in the UK and Manchester 1861-1960. I looked at the settlement occupations, working lives and lived experience of Italians in the UK. My MPhil looked at the place , development and responses to the Italian presence in Manchester.

Currently, I am researching the public history of the Italian presence with a clear focus upon the significance of memorials and popular memory.
