Dr Paul Richards

I have worked for the OU as an associate lecturer since 2015 and am undertaking a secondment as a staff tutor in Computing and Communications. I have involvement in a variety of modules:

• TM110: Module team member
• TM111: Cluster manager
• TM129: Cluster manager and module team member
• M269: Associate lecturer
• TM256: Cluster manager
• TM252: Cluster manager and module team member
• TM470: Associate lecturer and a cluster manager.

Plus I have an interest in M250/TM253 and TM359, being a previous associate lecturer.

I am an OU graduate in Computing. I also gained a PhD from Aston University in AI (case-based reasoning). I worked in the IT industry for over 15 years in varied roles: SQL databases, Java/C# programming and web development. 

I have completed some OU modules as a student, for continuing professional development:

• H880 Educational Technology 2020: gaining a PgCert(ODE)
• M817 Systems Security 2023
• M811 Information Security 2025

My academic interests include the use of generative AI in education.
