Miss Pallavi Kajrekar
PhD research student
Biography
I am a PhD student in Molecular Astrophysics at the School of Physical Sciences. My research bridges laboratory astrochemistry with observational astronomy. I am supervised by Dr Anita Dawes and Dr Helen Jane Fraser
My work involves simulating interstellar icy grains in the laboratory, in order to understand how molecular complexity emerges in star-forming regions and contributes to the chemical precursors of life. It directly supports the interpretation of James Webb Space Telescope(JWST) infrared ice spectra and aims to provide benchmark data for astrochemical models.
