Biography

I am a design strategist with two decades of professional experience and an ongoing academic focus on design ethics. My work spans practice and research, placing me in the space between industry and academia — what some call a “pracademic.”

Currently, I apply design strategy in the financial sector, where I focus on navigating complex systems and integrating ethical decision-making into design outcomes. My practice is grounded in real-world challenges, with a focus on improving services and experiences that impact people’s lives.

I am also doing a PhD in STEM, where my research explores the location of ethics in design practice. This work builds on my long-standing interest in how designers make decisions and how those decisions influence users, systems, and society.

My approach combines critical thinking, systems literacy, and a commitment to inclusive, responsible design practice. I value collaboration, mutual learning, and design as a mode of inquiry and change.

In addition to my professional work, I actively engage in academic and community initiatives. I volunteer as a student representative and serve on the STEM Academic Committee and the Senate. These roles allow me to advocate for student interests and contribute to the development of my peers.
