Biography
Professional biography
My professional background is within Early Help services as both practitioner and strategic leader. I have enjoyed almost 20 years working in the statutory, voluntary and private sector with the 0 - 19 age range. I am currently a Staff Tutor for the Open University with line management responsibility for Associate Lecturers.
Research interests
I am currently studying for a Doctorate in Education, researching the characteristics of child-centred practice and safeguarding within Early Help workforces. Within the School for Education, Childhood, Youth and Sport I lead the Student Voice and Wellbeing | Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (open.ac.uk)
Teaching interests
Since moving to the world of academia 10 years ago, I have led courses for Family and Community Studies and Special Educational Needs and Disability. My teaching interests include safeguarding and well-being, childhood and youth, community studies and educational inclusion.
