Biography

Professional biography

I am the Associate Director in Library Services, within Learner and Discovery Services. I am responsible for leading the development and delivery of strategies within Library Services, meeting the needs of the Open University community to support learning, teaching, and research. I champion our customer focussed continual improvment culture within my department and across the university. 

Research interests

I am passionate about performance measurement and assessment in academic libraries. I present, publish, and provide consultancy services to libraries on an international basis on using assessment methods to inform library strategy and improve service delivery. Previous research has included the use of the LibQUAL+ survey and eResources metrics. Current research includes using assessment data, communicating impact and library analytics.

  • Peer-reviewer for Librarianship journals, areas of focus include library performance measurment, library analytics and library assessement.

  • Member of the Journal Usage Statistics Portal (JUSP) Community Advisory Group
  • Member of the SCONUL Working Group on Performance Quality, Performance Portal Sub-Committee

I was previously LibQUAL+ European Administrator on behalf of the North American Association of Research Libraries. I have provide consultany on an international basis on the use of the LibQUAL+ library survey methodology.
