Research Interests

My doctoral thesis examined the experiences of registered nurses supporintg students in very remote and rural areas of Scotland and my research interests include supporting student nurses in practice as well as all things pertaining to the experiences of living in very remote and rural and island communities.

Current research projects include the experiences of students undertaking their pre-registration nurse education whilst living and working on an island, as well as the experiences of being an islander in the Western Isles. My research centres on showcasing the experiences of others utilising data collection methods chosen by participants involving co-participation.
