Biography
Background
I am a doctoral researcher in the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS) and a member of the Centre for the Study of Global Development (CSGD) at The Open University. I am also a researcher at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), where my work focuses on social protection, livelihoods, and the experiences of young people living in contexts affected by crisis, including violence, displacement, and climate-related challenges across Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. My research has a particular focus on gender equity and social inclusion. I primarily use qualitative and participatory approaches, including creative methods, to better understand how people experience and navigate everyday challenges.
More information can be found on my LinkedIn profile and ORCiD record.
Doctoral research
My PhD explores how young women navigate their everyday lives in communities affected by violence and territorial control in Honduras.
Drawing on participatory and feminist research approaches, I work collaboratively with young women through a Cooperative Inquiry methodology. Using narrative, visual, and discussion-based methods, the research places participants' experiences and perspectives at its centre, supporting an ongoing process of data generation and reflection.
My PhD supervisors are Professor Keetie Roelen and Professor Rosina Marquez Reiter.
